“If we don’t know where we are going, any road will get us there.”Rich is a leader and a coach who prides himself on helping others reach their goals.
Take, for example, a teenage girls’ soccer team he took under his wing as a coach—a team with a 0 win/16 loss record, with only 3 goals all year (versus 60 goals against them). Two years later, the same team had reversed their record: 16 wins, 0 losses, 69 goals, and only 4 goals against. They took third in state, and the following year, won the state championship.
Rich’s approach to retirement planning is a lot like his approach to soccer coaching. There is no one plan that works for everyone. He provides options to help clients get past hurdles that may seem impossible, and then works with them until they’ve achieved what they want to achieve.
Rich is most satisfied when he is creating wealth and success. A longtime business owner in industries as diverse as manufacturing, leasing, franchising, and commercial real estate, his business acumen has grown numerous companies into businesses that are successful not only on the “bottom line,” but in terms of employee pride and satisfaction.
“I’m not artistic or musical,” Rich says, “but I suspect work gives me some of the same satisfaction a sculptor or artist has. To me, creating a company culture and building a company feels the way I imagine a sculptor must feel when approaching a slab of marble—removing the superfluous parts to reveal the form and image he has imagined lying within.”
Outside of work, Rich serves on the board of the Footsteps Missions of San Francisco CA and on the Advisory Board of the PLU School of Business. He and wife Becky are proud parents of five adult children and four adopted orphaned Ethiopian grandchildren. They enjoy spending time together skiing, traveling, and dining.
“Integrity, Integrity, Integrity”Steve has developed a great deal of expertise in creating benefits packages that make employees and employers happy. Steve has also worked extensively to design benefit packages for other Northwest public and private firms . His goal is for Bellevue Financial to be the best small business financial resource advisors in the state.
A past strong supporter of such community service organizations as the Little League Baseball Board, Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis Club, Steve continues to reach out to community members through monthly breakfasts designed to strengthen business leadership, families, and life balance.
Steve lives in Fall City with his wife of nearly 20 years, Inger, and their three children.
“Do the right thing.”Matt works hard for what he wants. In college, with his eyes set on the highly competitive Finance program at University of Washington, Matt spent more time at the library and in the study lounge than at the parties his fraternity brothers threw. Earning a seat in the program was one of the early proud moments of his life.
After graduation, Matt began his career in the Financial Services industry with a national firm, where he distinguished himself early; during his first two years, he was one of the top 5 sales professionals in the nation in client-building.
A business owner himself since 1999, Matt Myers holds a BA in Finance and is a Certified Financial Planner.
Matt says his greatest passion in his professional life is “making my clients money.” Clients find him approachable, intelligent, balanced, and above all, trustworthy. Through his work with clients, he embraces the chance to build hope and enthusiasm for the future.
Matt has a passion for swimming and the outdoors, and what he really loves is riding motorcycles. He and his wife, Stephanie, are busy raising three sons—a bright new generation of Myers.
“In life, it is not the destination, but the journey that is most meaningful.” A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, Michael Myers is an avid traveler, boater, licensed commercial pilot, and adventurer. He loves facing and conquering challenges as they arise, exploring new destinations, meeting vibrant people, and then enjoying the sunset at the end of the day. Perhaps not surprisingly, he describes his position at Bellevue Financial as “Keeper of Calm in the Storm.”
Michael is a graduate of the University of Washington Business School. He brings more than three decades of financial experience to the team and is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner. Developing and maintaining good client relationships is evidenced by the fact that he is now helping many long time clients in their retirement. Numerous clients have faced life changes, including death of a spouse at which time Michael has assisted widows during the difficult process of settling the estate and then plan for the years ahead.
Michael began his financial career in 1970 and became a Certified Financial Planner shortly thereafter. In his financial planning work with clients, Michael’s steady, reassuring guidance gives clients the grounding and confidence they need to undertake their own adventures in life. He has been serving the community for the past 11 years as a member of Rotary International and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship in 2005.
Michael and his wife, Kay, have been married for 37 years and lived in the same house for 34; these islands of stability give him a strong home base, no matter how far afield travel and adventure may lure him. His son, Matt, joined Michael in professional practice as a business partner in 2000, and daughter Megan is married and lives in California.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Ps 127:1Matt believes that Bellevue Financial has a calling to serve customers. “We need to be excellent for them. We help our clients find products that are best for them, not us. I am most rewarded when I help clients achieve peace of mind, find and pursue their purpose in life, and be the best.”
Beginning his financial career with a national estate planning and wealth management firm after graduating from the University of Washington, Matt’s business acumen developed rapidly. He started and sold his own company in less than three years, honing his business skills and instincts in the process. Today, the lessons he learned through these experiences help him to guide his clients toward good decisions for them.
One of Matt’s burning desires is to help his clients live richer, fuller, more rewarding lives on all levels, not just financially. He lives this commitment through such activities as leading monthly IMPACT breakfasts with other Community leaders. At these meetings, men work together to recognize life problems, bring their lives back into balance, and reconnect with their families on a deep, meaningful level. Matt also helps organize biannual CEO retreats where clients can spend a sustained amount of time focusing on their businesses and rekindle the fire that led them to go into business for themselves.
When work and community service are done, Matt and his beautiful wife Cindy enjoy spending time with their three young children at their family cabin on Whidbey Island.
